TARGET AUDIENCE

The Evolution of Therapy in the Management of CML is designed for hematologists, oncologists, and other physicians involved and/or interested in the management of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

• Discuss recent clinical trial data evaluating the use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in the management of patients with newly diagnosed CML so that the optimal therapy can be selected and implemented on an individual patient basis.

• Evaluate clinical and molecular features in determining second-line therapy in order to appropriately manage patients with chronic-phase CML who have experienced a resistance or intolerance to first-line tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy.

• Identify strategies for overcoming barriers to treatment that are unique to the community oncology setting.
