Meeting Overview

We are pleased to invite you to our satellite symposium, Targeting the Right Chemotherapy to the Right Patient: Optimizing Outcomes in Breast Cancer, an Official 2011 European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress sponsored Satellite Symposium. This symposium will cover emerging data and provide updates on chemotherapy that are relevant to clinicians who provide care to patients with breast cancer. The activity will address educational needs pertaining to chemotherapy use and the application of recent data to challenging clinical scenarios, and will feature plenary lectures, faculty discussion, and case-based presentations with leading experts in the field of breast cancer.

Date and Location

This educational activity is specifically designed for medical oncologists, surgical and radiation oncologists, and other healthcare providers interested and/or involved in the treatment of patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

After successful completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss strategies to individualize chemotherapy for patients with breast cancer, including utilization of molecular profiling, biomarkers, and patient and disease characteristics

  • Evaluate current standards of care for the use of chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer, and evaluate recent data regarding optimization of available therapies

  • Examine the latest clinical trial data on novel chemotherapeutic agents and newer drug formulations and how these agents can be incorporated into current treatment regimens

  • Identify appropriate treatment strategies for patients with heavily pretreated and/or refractory metastatic breast cancer
