Can we overcome endocrine therapy resistance in breast cancer?
Matthew Ellis, MD, PhD, FRCP |
LEARNING OBJECTIVES | After successful completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the sequencing of hormonal therapies beyond the first-line setting for patients with hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer
- Evaluate treatment options for male patients with endocrine responsive breast cancer, particularly after progression on selective estrogen receptor modulator therapy
- Examine current data regarding the mechanisms of endocrine resistance and the rationale for therapeutic strategies to overcome resistance
- Assess novel therapeutic approaches for refractory hormone receptor–positive metastatic breast cancer, including new endocrine therapies and combinatorial strategies with targeted agents
