This educational activity is designed for medical oncologists and other healthcare providers involved and/or interested in the treatment of patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Evaluate complete pathologic remission (pCR) as a potential endpoint for clinical trials and how pCR data from these trials might be incorporated into clinical practice
  • Review recent clinical trial data regarding combined targeted therapies (dual blockade of HER2) for the management of HER2-positive breast cancer, and discuss the potential of this approach in future treatment of early breast cancer
  • Define biosimilar medicines and identify potential advantages and disadvantages of biosimilar monoclonal antibodies
  • Explain how discordant pathology results upon disease progression might impact therapy choice
